Check Local Building Codes & Zoning Requirements Our plans are designed to meet or exceed national building standards. Many states, counties or municipalities have own building codes and zoning requirements that supersede these guidelines. Because of the wide variety of geographic or weather conditions throughout the country that can affect the safety of a home, the plan you choose may need modifications to comply with special requirements in your area. Before using your plans please consult a local building office to find out if there are any special requirements where you plan to build. Check To See If Architectural Or Engineering Seals Are Required Some states, counties or municipalities require a licensed architect or engineer to review and approve building documents prior to construction. Before applying for a building permit or the start of actual construction, please consult a local building office to find out if a review of your particular set of plans will be required. Exchange Policy Returns are not accepted if you find that the plan that you purchased does not meet your needs, then you may exchange that plan to another plan if certain conditions are met. You may return an UNOPENED package within 30 days of delivery with prior permission. Any exchange must be approved and authorization given before the exchange can take place. At the time of the exchange, you will be charged a processing fee of 20 percent of the total amount of the original order plus the difference in price between the plans (if applicable) and the cost to ship the new plans to you. In the event a package of a reproducible set of documents is opened or the packaging or seal is removed in a manner which will permit access to the reproducible set of documents, then an exchange will not be allowed.
